Nagaoka JT-80LB Moving Magnet Turntable Cartridge
One of the world-famous manufacturer of record cartridges and needles / stylus - Nagaoka, released a new series to celebrate its 80th anniversary. Building on its much sought after MP series cartridges, the new JT series is a natural progression in Moving Magnet / MM cartridge design.
The “Jeweltone” - JT series from Nagaoka has a simple and continuous design philosophy from the tonearm to the stylus tip for reducing unwanted vibrations by utilising a reductions in the number of parts. In addition, the bare screws that join the head shell on previous products have been integrated inside the body to reduce exposure and resonance.
The slanted front panel of the Nagaoka JT-80LB allows for easy viewing of the stylus tip and easy stylus replacement.
The JT-80LB can be said to be a true all rounder with tonal characteristics supported by a wide range of musical genres including design evolutions oriented well towards modern pop and jazz.
For the JT-80LB’s ideal frequency response, Nagaoka adjusted the hardness of the damper rubber and core materials. While the MP series cartridges and the new JT series MM stereo cartridges have the same power generator, the structures of the cantilever are different. Nagaoka also found the best tonal balance for the JT-80LB by selecting and adjusting the damper rubber and stylus tip.
